Serving kids in need
Updated: Mar 31, 2019
For the past several years, Orphan World Relief has been engaged in helping provide dignity and security to children entering foster care. This program, My Comfy Kits, has provided backpacks (or diaper bags) full of comfort items - blanket, books, crayons, stuffed animals, a new set of pajamas - to more than 2,000 kids in Ohio. The program has become so popular that it's extended to two other counties. Franklin, Fayette and Stark Counties all serve local kids entering foster care.
While we cannot show pictures of the kids themselves, we can share the following note we received from a case worker:
"A case manager took some kits to some new placements and decided to take a couple to the other foster children in the home who had been placed prior to our partnership with you. She said that all of them were really excited to receive the packs. The older boys really liked the clothes in them and the younger boy, who is 8 yrs old, was overjoyed by every item in his bag. She said that with each item he removed he became more and more excited!
Another case manager took a kit to a 17 year old young woman who has just been placed with us. While going through the bag she came across the stuffed animal, it was a unicorn pillow pet. The young woman looked at the case manager and said, "I have wanted one of these for my entire life." How cool is that!
Thank you for providing this service. You are blessing our children and truly making them feel special!"

We're excited about the future of My Comfy Kits and providing even more kits to kids in need across the state!
