Start an Orphan-Focused Ministry At Your Church!
You are welcome to adopt any part or this entire ministry detailed below called, The Least of These. Its purpose is to minister to orphaned children through prayer, missions, awareness, education, adoption, and advocacy.
Did you know?
- In the United States, on any given day there are approximately 500,000 children in the foster care system. Of those, about 120,000 are currently available for adoption.
- Internationally there are more than 147 million orphans (and the numbers are growing daily).
Potential Goals of The Least of These:
- Partner with Orphan World Relief by having local fundraisers through your Church.
- Establish a fund to help families in your Church with initial adoption costs.
- Develop an adoption support group to help those who have adopted or are considering adoption as a choice.
- Provide pre-adoption counseling (offering a realistic perspective on adoption to be certain that singles or couples are considering adoption thoughtfully, emotionally, and prayerfully).
- Become part of a summer host program for orphans. There are two kinds of host families. Some families are hosting with the intention of adoption. Others are hosting the children as advocates for them to find an adoptive family.
- Develop an orphan-focused mission trip through your Church.
- Develop a local foster/adoption mission locally.
